Once made for preserves and pantry shelves, these original vintage stoneware jars have been individually found and chosen by Atelier & Co, before being given new purpose as vessels for our hand-poured botanical candles.
Each carries the quiet character of its former life - subtle variations in glaze, tone, markings and patina that cannot be recreated in something newly made. Every candle is an individual object to use, keep and enjoy.
Hand-poured in Lancashire using a premium, naturally derived vegan container wax, chosen for its clean, even burn and beautiful creamy finish. Blended with fine fragrance and essential oils for a rich, considered scent throw.
And when the final flame has burned, the story needn’t end. Clean your vessel and repurpose it once again - for brushes, botanicals, little treasures or simply as a beautiful object in its own right. Found once, given new ritual, then ready for another life.
Available in two signature Atelier fragrances, each composed to create its own atmosphere within the home.
THE FRAGRANCES
Fig | Fern
Green Fig Leaf · Lime Blossom · Violet Woods
Verdant and atmospheric. Green fig and soft lime blossom settle into violet-toned woods, evoking shaded leaves, woodland air and the cool stillness beneath a canopy.
Fjell
Pine · Juniper · Grapefruit · Petitgrain
Cool, aromatic and grounding. Coniferous pine and juniper are lifted by bitter grapefruit and green petitgrain, inspired by the clarity and expansiveness of Nordic forest air.
THE FOUND OBJECT
No two vessels are exactly alike. Variations in glaze, colour, shape, surface texture, markings and signs of age form part of their history and individual character. Your candle is therefore entirely unique and may differ from those photographed.
Once your candle is finished, carefully clean the stoneware and give your found object another purpose. A vessel with a past, a candle for now, and an object to carry forward.
THE RITUAL
For the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly towards the edges of the vessel. Before each subsequent lighting, trim the wick to approximately 5mm for a slower, cleaner burn.
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from draughts, children and pets. Discontinue use when approximately 10mm of wax remains.
